Belmont Shores

Belmont Shores Moroccan bungalow, this kitchen redo was completed in 2016, Moroccan was the design brief so we experimented with Encaustic tile, which have been used for centuries in Europe (the tile body is concrete and the pigment powder is pressed into the upper 1/8th” of the tile) concrete tiles are quite porous and are quick to pick up surface stains even with high quality sealer, These patina beautifully and some of my favourite examples are those that have been installed for decades If you are ok with Patina, these are a winner. Because of their recent rapid rise in popularity they are feeling a bit gimmicky which is silly really because they have been around since medieval times (the era not the jousting & dinner theater spectacular)

I like to meet clients in person and conduct a site visit, photos are good but nothing beats seeing the project in person to figure out the scope and scale of the work necessary. This first consultation is free.
The services we provide typically include comprehensive project design all aspects of aesthetics and function are considered. On restoration projects we often need to consider the aesthetics of systems and for mid century homes with systems at the end of their useful like, discrete retrofit planning is often required before we can turn our attention to finish. We offer complete design plans, project oversight, 3D-dimensioned modeling, animations, drafting, a look book and palettes.

Not every job should be a gut remodel, we really try to approach each job with the notion of salvaging and restoring original features, while sometimes original features are tired, they can often be revived instead of replaced, then the home benefits from a layered organic look as opposed to a homogeneous sleek all new look. We believe we can keep a lot of items out of landfill and keep the history and story of the home intact while increasing the beauty and utility for the homeowner.
